Hi All! Pam here, finally got this to work! I had an extremely dull first week, but this one is starting out a little better. I've been reading a LOT about Habitat for Humanity and researching for grants to help us with our projects. Other than a tour of the county, I haven't been out of the office much either. Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day so the other VISTA and I are going on a foot tour of the "Square". She's also going to take me to another thrift store (our office is in the HFH Re-store), to a food bank and wherever else she thinks I should become familiar with. She's even going to take me to the drugstore where she has her prescriptions filled. What a deal!
Anyway, I hope you are all settling in and are happy with your assignments. I'm sure I will be once I get going. I took some time this afternoon to go to coffee at a local cafe to drop off brochures. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it!
Hang in there everyone! It was great to read how other's tours have started out. Later, Pam Smith

Hey Pam,
It's nice to hear that other folks had a slow first week too. I think it just took a little time for the people in my program to get used to having us there. The only thing I don't like is that I have a cubicle and it's in a hallway. However, i got to rewrite a grant today. Hooray!
